Lake Geneva Winterfest

January 26 - February 3

Lake Geneva Winterfest

Winterfest is a nine-day festival dedicated to art, winter, and fun which features many amazing events taking place in a picturesque resort city of Lake Geneva, located right next to Geneva Lake in southeastern Wisconsin. The major highlight of Lake Geneva Winterfest is the United States National Snow Sculpting Championship. Fifteen teams of snow sculptors and artists from all around the U.S. compete for a national title. Winterfest attendees can watch how the huge snow blocks are transformed into masterpieces with simple hands tools. Afterwards, visitors can watch the US National Snow Sculpting Competition Champion's Award, and the Peoples' Choice Award being received by artists at the beautiful Riviera on the lake. Other Winterfest attractions include a hovercraft competition with rides, ice castles, human dog sled races, magic shows, and helicopter Rides. There is live entertainment and the Ice Bar in the evenings.

Ice Castles

January through February

Ice Castles

Mark your calendar: these "Ice Castles" are coming to Lake Geneva this winter.

The stunning, internally-lit life-size castles, made by hand each winter by a Utah-based sculptor and his team, are slated to open in Lake Geneva in Mid-January.

Ice Castles features ice-carved tunnels, fountains, slides, frozen thrones and towering ice formations," the company said, noting each castle weighs more than 25 million pounds and is "built by hand and takes thousands of man-hours to create.

Pre-sale tickets will become available right after Thanksgiving.

The amazing structures are made entirely of ice, and LED lights frozen inside light them. All of the Ice Castles are located next to a natural water source so all of our water returns directly into the environment to be used again by wildlife, people and plants.

Visiting Artist William Nelson

Saturday, February 2: 11 am - 2 pm

Visiting Artist William Nelson

The Cornerstone Shop is delighted that Artist William Nelson will be joining us during Winterfest 2019. Bill’s journey into the world of art began at the Art Institute of Chicago at an early age and continued there until he was awarded a full scholarship. As one of the first official artists of the U.S. Olympics, he was appointed to complete a series of paintings depicting the Innsbruck and Montreal Games. One of his many prestigious commissions, “A Bicentennial History of the United States”, was on display in the Smithsonian. William Nelson is the first artist to have a private show in the Senate Caucus Room in Washington, D.C. His works have been displayed in the White House, the National Gallery of Art, and the Chicago Historical Society as well as the private collections of many well-known lovers of fine art. Today, some of his Lake Geneva scenes are beautifully and proudly exhibited at the Cornerstone Shop & Gallery. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet and talk with Artist William Nelson who will most graciously share his vision with our guests.
